My dad bought me so many Nike sneakers when I was a little girl I lost count of how many I had. I know for sure I had more than the fingers on both of my hands and more than many of the boys I grew up with. You guessed right if it occurred to you that I might have been a tomboy, sometimes I still am, and still dress like one. For this outfit idea I tried to remember the styles that I wore when I was growing up and I just remember comfortable, and practical clothing from my earlier years. So I chose this loose fitting ModCloth dress, paired it with printed Nike sneakers and continued the print theme with the polka dot scarf on the Michael Michael Kors bag. The blue bag compliments the blue in the dress and the white dots of the scarf matches the whites of the sneakers. As a child this is something that I would have worn with one of the Nike's my dad got for me. He was just so awesome! He still is, and he's a stylish guy too.
I've always thought that a softer pink + leopard print were perfect together! Now Daniela of Nany's Klozet(photos: Gabriel Sanchez) and Brit(on the left) of Disarming Darling has provided you with irrefutable* proof. similar: Sportmax top, Swak Designs flutter top, Swak Designs cold shoulder top, MSGM skirt, Torrid skirt. *hyperbole :)

“When I take a picture I take 10 percent of what I see.”
I love photography. I love that we can freeze time, store it away, and reflect upon it later on. I love that we can capture the tiniest, most significant moment and have it last forever. I love that photographs tell a specific story and the image itself can still remain abstract and left to our imaginations to build a narrative around it. I love pictures that grab our attention and deceives us into thinking we've missed the greatest moment in history by not being present when that particular image was captured. I love vintage photographs, black and white photographs, photographs of landscapes, photographs of nature, fashion photography, photographs of design and architecture and I absolutely love portrait photography, and that's why I'm inspired by the legendary photographer and portrait artist Annie Leibovitz. Her photos are timeless, and magnetic, yet so simple, and subtle. The images make you want to get reach your hand towards the frame hoping that somehow you'll magically get sucked in and experience the moments in between freeze time. If it were only possible then maybe we could see for ourselves and understand when she says "A very subtle difference can make the picture or not." and "I am impressed with what happens when someone stays in the same place and you took the same picture over and over and it would be different, every single frame."
The
pink coat is a very popular trend in fashion this Winter 2014 season and I'm positive it will continue to be just as ubiquitous in Spring 2015 as well. Asos has one of the most popular ones right now that I
love [Nadia and Patricia(donkeycool) are both wearing it] and have included in the similar items list several times. I love a cocoon coat and a pink one has this old Hollywood glamour feel about it and I just love clothing that's inspired by that time period.

The similar pink tones create the theme of this outfit... Theme? What theme? I don't know! Just look at how well all the pieces go together, there's such a simple flow to it. I want to borrow everything single thing she's wearing. Topshop coat. Poppy Lux top. TFB skirt. similar: Asos coat, Velvet lace top/Old Navy eyelet top, Le Suit pencil skirt, Charlotte Russe pumps. So On Trend
This idea provides a way for you to break your outfit down and separate fabric, print, and colour, especially if you choose to wear a dress. If choose to wear a skirt instead, it provides a smart way of building your outfit up, and you get to decide the number of add ons you can manage as you layer. The long sweater is just one of those pieces that can create a specific look easily. chictopia

The denim button-down shirt is perfect for the girls who love to wear their guys clothes, and even though I think Janet and Nicole both look spectacular, I also have to salute the girls who dare to wear (t)his shirt by itself. similar: Pyrus denim dress, Old Navy shirt dress, G-star shirt dress, Asos shirt, Etro denim shirt

I remember seeing her on a reality competition show, I can't remember the name... it wasn't Canada's Next Top Model, it was another one. The name's escaped me now but anyways, she was a guest mentor to the contestants on this show and she had so much charm, and charisma. She was outspoken and had a bold personality and I remember thinking that she was awesome! Then after that I came across some information about her and I heard her tell her story of wanting to be a model as a young girl but getting no encouragement from any of the agencies she visited, and having no support from friends or even family members. Growing up people thought she looked weird, and different. She's said of that time "for some reason, even at that young age, amongst all the negativity – I felt I had something special." Not caring about the negative criticism, she "pursued modeling relentlessly." She travelled to New York to visit agencies, and when that didn't work out she went to Paris and that's when her career as a model blossomed. She was walking in fashion shows and starring in ad campaigns for major fashion brands, and she transformed into a supermodel as the years went on. Now with all of her experience in the fashion industry she has created Stacey McKenzie's Walk This Way Workshops which teaches up and coming models and the ones that are already established how be the best model and how to navigate the fashion industry. A major part of the workshop is dedicated to building the girls' self-esteem.
There's no fuss about this look, that's what I love about it, and its easy to recreate. All you need is four versatile, easy to identify pieces that work well with anything. Put them together and there you have it, a fuss free/stress free outfit creation. chictopia

I love, love this hairstyle. It's signature, and unique, and cool with a regal flare. Box braids can serve as a protective style and its easy to maintain and even easier to create any look from an updo, to a ponytail, and even a simple bun. Plus, when you wear long single braids you don't really have to worry about how you're going to do your hair. Images: tumblr
