from my (sister’s) closet: beaded purse

I want to pair this purse with: La Petite Robe di Chiara Boni dress, Giuseppe Zanotti sandals

I wanted to create a look inspired by the mid to late 1960's so I got a dress that is the identical shade of green to pair with this beaded purse(similar here). This outfit would be great with simple or no jewelry, glowing skin and understated hair. In fact, considering the decade from which this look is inspired by, the beehive would be the perfect hairstyle. Here is the other outfit post with this beaded purse where I paired it with an Armani skirt, and Perry leather shorts, worn under a Band of Outsiders jacket and then completed the look with Givenchy biker sandals.

A sleeveless shift dress(similar here) is a timeless piece that everyone woman should have in her closet. It's a go to item for wear to work, social gatherings, meetings, professional engagements, and impromptu events, and it is a great choice for a Sunday’s school sophisti“cat” look. Not only is this dress a classic piece, it is a perfect way to be glamorous and still be all about business.

A skirt-suit(similar here) is a must have for when you want to look professional, classy and elegant. There's an air of authority and power that surrounds the wearer, it definitely seems like a uniform for someone in charge.

I think it's just as important to have a casual white dress(similar here) in your closet as it is to have a little black dress; and once you have the white dress, investing in a pair of cowgirl boots(similar here) to wear it with is a good idea too.

Is this a great example of a tomboy-chic look or what? From the toque(similar here), to the coat(similar here), sweater(similar here), and pants(similar pants, similar print Plus Size skirt) to the touch of femininity with the pumps(similar here); its more than a tomboy look, it feels like a hybrid of classic & tomboy & urban.

This past Sunday's school sophisti"cat" looked fierce in a cheetah print coat that completed her rebel style. How can anyone not feel empowered when rocking the symbol of two of the most graceful, fiercest, strongest, and most agile felines on earth? The girls above exude power and confidence in their beautifully styled prints.

There's something rebellious about this look, maybe it's the part of the t-shirt(similar here) hanging over the waist of the skirt(similar here) or it's the feel of... you know when you don't have the motivation to go to an appointment or an event but you know you have to go anyways, so you force yourself to get up and throw on something, not really caring what it is, and like a miracle, the result looks amazing. Which is how it is sometimes when you don't care about what you put on; you end up looking better than when you spend hours selecting clothes from your closet. The coat(similar here) is a great match for the colour of the skirt and I feel like the ankle boots(similar here) worn with this look, are meant to give off the 'I don’t want to be here, so I don't care what I wear' vibe. This look is genius and amazing.

I feel like with this look you can be as ostentatious as you feel, especially if that's not your regular style. Throw on a faux or vintage fur stole, and a lot of diamonds, and this vintage purse(similar here) fits right in like the final piece to the wardrobe puzzle. You can view the first outfit post with this purse where I paired it with a Biba Lily dress, Acne denim jacket with a borg collar and white Givenchy sandals.

I think the common belief about white shoes is that they are to be reserved for wear to weddings or to church, but that's clearly not the case. Look at the girls above, they all look amazing. I love the bright colours of the clothing as a contrast to the shoes, and the all white look is timeless. Take a few inspiration points from these girls and accessorize your look with white shoes, the shade seems to bring light to the outfits. Or look back at the outfit post where I paired a white Acne dress with white Dsquared2 sandals to get an idea for a glam look.

This outfit feels glam and casual to me. I think it's the off-white platform sandals(similar here), and the white dress(similar here) worn as a top and cinched with the belt worn over the long skirt(similar here). The combination of the dress and skirt creates a sort of vintage gown. Only a well styled look can blend so many different styles and pull it off as this one does, and the printed scarf(similar here) is a beautiful addition in terms of adding colour to this look.

This look reminds me of a busy girl on the go. She starts her day with the jacket(similar here), dress(similar here), belt(similar here), sandals(similar here), and bag(similar here), minus the necklace. Come afternoon the jacket is gone as she is rushing to meet the deadlines on the gazillion tasks that she juggles at once. At the end of a successful work day she unwinds by attending a late evening dinner with her revamped look, minus the belt and jacket, and adding the necklace.

This 1940's look is as equally modern as it is a flashback of the past. The skirt(similar here) and bag(similar here) are on trend, and the shoes(similar here) are popular among a lot of people right now. The hat and the jacket(similar here) are what makes it vintage. Yet, if this look could have been worn in any decade following the 1940's it wouldn't look shockingly out of place, because mixing colours, and tailored clothing will never go out of style.

If or when you're on vacation and you need a simple and comfortable outfit to go about town, this matching top(similar here), and skirt(similar here) along with the sandals(similar here) are perfect for the stroll. This outfit could also have been a dress(similar here) that she DIY into a matching top/skirt combo. I wish I was in Jamaica having lunch on a patio by the beach, this is what I would be wearing!

This can easily be classified as a modern take on the classic film noir look. The lace top(similar here), of the dress is romantic and the long skirt(similar here) is dramatic. Nothing says film noir like romance and drama rolled up in one. The statement necklace and dark lips also adds drama to this look, and the understated clutch(similar here) doesn't distract from the rest of the outfit. Her eyes shielded behind the dark glasses adds a layer of mystery, and that's another critical component in the film noir look.

I saw this photo and immediately thought of the 1920's fashion era, and of flapper girls 'boy' dresses, finger waves hairstyle, and red lipstick drawn on in heart shapes. Even her golden hair and minimal make-up in this photo personifies the image of some film stars of the 1920's and the 1930's.The outer dress (similar here), tank top (similar here) and the dress underneath (similar here) hangs on the body as the styles did back then, and the boots (similar here) and the bag (similar here) pull the outfit together to create the casual-tomboy look.

Blue jeans will never go out of style and this past Sunday's school sophisti"cat" wore a look that shows that multiple outfits can be created out of classic pieces. Jeans is a classic wordrobe staple, could be casual, or thrown into a glam mix, it is definitely tomboy & urban style approved, and of course, nothing fits quite like biased-cut vintage denim. Which piece from this look will I focus on in the next "noi saf style & ...". Uh-uuhhh, I can't tell you, you'll have to wait and see. I love how the nude sandals (similar here), yellow maxi skirt (similar here), oversized clutch (similar here), and denim jacket (similar here) work together to create this formal yet informal outfit, it shows that a lot of different looks can be put together using the separate pieces.

from my closet: vintage bag

I want to pair this bag with: Faith Connexion coat, Emilia Wickstead dress (similar), and Forzieri sandals. The bag (similar Parentesi bag) is two toned, it is a mix of suede and leather, and the combo perfectly compliments the black and grey colour block coat, which is menswear inspired so the fit is a bit baggy and I love that about this look. Tomboy + classic = timeless.

This past Sunday's school sophisti"cat" wore a signature piece that I'm sure we all have in our closets. A pencil skirt defines the movements you make and boldly outlines the figure that you have. The classic bodycon fit is well formed to the body and leaves minimal space around the knees so not only is your figure on display, but your sultry strut as well. The pencil skirt provides the perfect platform to make a style statement so when you're wearing one; walk bold, walk fierce, walk proud and walk with confidence.
