THANDIE NEWTON
She has this one signature look and I’m not sure if she realizes how often this one particular expression crosses her features, but we’re glad for how human and humble it makes her. It took me a while to figure out what this one particular look was, and finally I got it! Compassion, and not just that, but understanding as well, for self and for others. Of course when you see her on the film screen that look is gone and is replaced with whatever emotions are coursing through her character’s veins at the moment. She is brilliant at carrying through emotions on screen, but as soon as the director yells ‘cut’, once again we see her as us.
With just one look you see her as everywoman; a student, a professor, a mother, a first lady, an entrepreneur, a medical surgeon, an artist, a designer, a spiritual guide. There isn’t anyone else who I can bring to mind who has this ability, Thandie is the only person I can think of. She has the reverence of a wise woman who is blessed and happy to share her experiences. Her eyes tell the story of someone that has lived several lives. Whatever the problem, she will have a life lesson, to help guide you, and whenever she speaks she is eloquent and honest and provides pure and real advice. I can literally sit and listen to Thandie Newton speak and not realize the amount of time that has passed. Her voice is captivating, and soothing, and not only that she has a great sense of humor, and she knows how to connect to the person she is having a conversation with. She has a down to earth presence about her, but there is also an unbreakable strength. Being beautiful, and gifted with the lithe figure of a supermodel, as well as having an impeccable taste in fashion was never the final goal for Thandie, I think from an early age she knew her purpose was so much more than that, and we are all lucky because we have someone like her to inspire us. photos: google
