This style is a popular Trend right now, but I also think of words like Statement, and Attitude, and Accessory because the jacket or coat worn this way is supposed to be more of an extension of your wardrobe instead of an actual part of it. It's job is to literally 'hang' off your shoulders and nothing else. It's not meant to protect you from the cold or hide your body, the purpose of this style is mainly to showcase a piece of garment. That's basically it. But when it looks so cool, I mean... how can you not want this sort of shield on your back.
